24/26 Old Forest Hill Road - FOREST HILL (UPDATE)
This house is crazy.
There isn't a lot of information out there other than it is listed at $25,000,000 (and from the looks of the Google street view, the garden is new).
If the decorator of this house was marking up all the furniture and art by 30%, then I am sure they have retired and are living by the beach somewhere!!! There is some serious stuff in this place. Like tables that probably cost $20,000 or more!!!
And a Ligne Roset Togo sofa just thrown up into the 3rd floor office. People save for a LONG time for one of those things. It isn't your average sofa....buuut then again, this isn't your average house.
Do you think these people are downsizing? How do you downsize from a place like this? What will they do with all the tapestries!?!
It's nuts.
This is the satellite view of the property. The property itself dwarfs the neighbours but look at some of the actual houses around (circled in purple)!!! Those are big houses!
Becuase of the limited information on the internet, I am not sure of the lot size, the number of bedrooms or bathrooms...how many wine bottles the wine cellar holds (I am just assuming there is one)...how big the sauna and gym are (again, an assumption)....how many rooms there are for staff...where the Casa Loma like secret stairwell is...
But I can tell you that they keep their Pellegrino in the wine fridge in the kitchen.
Is there really a $25,000,000 million buyer out there? And is this really a $25,000,000 million house!?!
Probably not but it is pretty crazy.
PS. Do you think those wood plank floors on the first floor are original? They are pretty amazing.
UPDATE: thanks to the clue from the commentor below stating that this house is owned by 'the founder of the world's biggest gold mining company'.
That clue and the photo in the bathroom that was not blurred out on the listing has helped me piece it together that the owner of this house is none other than this guy...
Peter Munk of Barrick Gold (seen above on his 131 foot yacht in Montenegro).
