This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house/cottage is on a great lot at 41 Ch. de la Rivière-à-Simon just outside of Piedmont, Quebec.
If you are a nature lover, this is the place for you and that creek would be so fun to play in as a kid (assuming you could swim). It is only 60 kilometres outside of Montreal and it is close to skiing. Actually, it is located fairly close to the house at 1616 Ch. des Berges-de-l'Est that is listed for $2,985,000.
This place is listed a lot lower at $789,000 (and from the looks of the Google Streetview, it has been listed for at least 2 years).
As it is, with the furniture and the art, I don't love it but with some paint and perhaps more uniform flooring throughout, this place could be more cozy and charming.
The thing that really caught my eye the the first time I saw the picture above...
Was the resemblance to Ray Drecker's Detroit house in the cancelled HBO series, Hung...
Now, each time I see the front of this house in the Laurentides, all I can think about is The Black Keys and the theme song for the show, "I'll Be Your Man"...
