358 Sumach Street - CABBAGETOWN
This is a 3+1 bedroom, 2 bathroom semi with 2 car parking 'for smaller cars' on a 19.33 x 95 foot lot at 358 Sumach Street in Cabbagetown.
It is a house I posted before in 2013 when it looked like this...
And was listed at $899,000 (which I thought was lower than it should have been).
It was a good house with great original features but basically needed to be gutter, as long as they left those doors...
And the fireplace...
It sold for $1,037,000.
According to the reader who sent it in, it was purchased by Andy Pringle and Valerie Pringle, current chair of the Toronto Police Services Board and former host of Canada AM respectively.
Since the new bathroom in this house...
Is basically the exact same bathroom as their last house that was featured in Toronto Life in December 2011...
Just with different wallpaper, I'm guessing this is definitely the home of the Pringles and they have renovated the whole house to resemble the traditional style of their old house.
They kept the doors but moved them and made them pocket doors which look great but they got rid of the fireplace.
So, overall, traditional is not really what I had in mind when I said this place could be amazing (though I do love the doors at the back), but if it is your style, it's a good reno.
The new asking price is $2,249,000.
This was an extensive reno, but was it a $900,000 reno? I don't think so but it will probably sell for ask...
But considering it is really only a 2+1 bedroom house, maybe a little under.
