53 Coldstream Avenue - LYTTON PARK
THREE Million!?! Really!?!
I get that this 4 + 1 bedroom home located just west of Lawrence Park in Lytton Park is a new build that is very contemporary (in case you didn't know, there is a book called 'Contemporary Houses' in the basement for reference). Everybody is doing it these days.
But THREE Million!?!
Actually it is $2,995,000. But just 2 months ago it was listed at $3,250,000!! Even the spotlight in the Globe and Mail's Home of the Week in August didn't help this sucker sell. And it is still WAY too over priced even after the price drop.
The architect, Victor Guitberg, did a beautiful job but the house isn't super large and the lot size isn't spectacular either at just 40 x 111 feet and a lot of that is driveway. It's not like this house is located downtown or anything!
I really do like the house even though an island would have made more sense in the kitchen and no one is really ever going to sit in that area on the second floor where all the Eames and Saarinen chairs are, but being situated right IN a ravine is unique and considering that THIS is what it looked like 3 years ago when it sold for $800,000, it is pretty impressive. But this place should be listed at $2,250,000 and at the most $2,500,000! Okay, maybe $2,600,000. But that's it.
And was that picture of Obama taken at a restaurant with a cell phone? I kind of like it.
