This house was in 'Style at Home' Magazine!?!  When!?!?!  1995?

Don't get me wrong.  It is a very nice detached house with great curb appeal but the inside and backyard are very outdated.

The whole place could use a facelift.

It would be nice to open up the kitchen to that back room and perhaps create a family room in the unfinished basement.  The floors are nice on the first floor but the flooring upstairs looks to have the original wood.  I bet the house creaks a lot.

There is a LOT of potential in this house but does it make sense for only a 3 bedroom that needs a few thousand in updates and is listed at $1,120,000.

That is how much this Deer Park house featured in the Globe and Mail below cost to purchase ($550,000) and do a total gut and rebuild (another $550,000)!

Kind of crazy, no?
