157 Rg de la Grande-Barbue
This beautiful old water mill that was built in 1829 has been converted into a residence just outside of Montreal in the Eastern Townships.
The main entrance is located on the ground floor which houses a waterfall and the original mechanism of the mill.
On the second floor is the dining room and living room with the kitchen off to the end. The master (which weirdly opens to the dining room below) and a guest bedroom with bathroom are located on the top floor. There is also a guest cottage and a 'clubhouse' that is used as a summer kitchen.
It is really beautiful. I think it is what the Hansel and Gretel house was trying to be.
Actually, it is kind of a cross between that house and the Eastern Ontario cottage in Kingston.
There is a large pool, lots of property and a river.
Pretty good vacation property for those in Montreal! Or if you are good with an hour commute, you could just live here!
And the price is $1,899,000.
Wonder if that includes all the collections of ducks, gargoyles...or that amazing dream catcher in the bedroom.
