This is what you can get in Old Montreal for $10,000 more than the 2+1 bedroom flat at 133 Av. De L'Epee in Outremont that I posted earlier today.

I pick the Outremont place even though I have only been there once!  

If you really want to go to Old Montreal, just get on a Bixi bike and glide down Avenue Du Parc.  You will be there in no time!  And you won't have to wake up in the morning to tourists in tube tops pushing their baby stroller up a hill while trying to drink a can of beer and smoke a cigarette all at the same time while people in dune buggies and Ferraris make their rounds on the crowded roads...

Not to mention the smell of horse pee!

I would also like to point out that it could probably happen in Outrement....but when I was walking around Old Montreal on Saturday afternoon, a gallery owner was washing away the remnants of someone's (mostly liquid) lunch that they had lost all over the side of the building.  It just happened to be on the corner of the building at 370 Place Royale that I posted back in February.  That place is still for sale.

This 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment is not only for sale for $598,000, it is also for lease for $2,950/month.  If you REALLY want to be in Old Montreal, that might be a better bet!

Don't get me wrong!  I love Old Montreal....for dinner or drinks or for amazing people watching...but I don't think I could live there.
