This house at 659 Avondale Road that has been listed at least since July was built in 1699 and is 313 years old. It is called 'The Mission' and it is located in Newport, Nova Scotia.
According to the current owner, Sherman Hines, it was built by the French as a fortification against the English. From his research that he has done, he believes it is the oldest existed building east of Quebec.

It kind of reminds me of the converted water mill residence at 157 RG de la Grande-Barbue in the Eastern Townships of Quebec that was built in 1829. That house was listed at $1,899,000.
Hines and his family bought this house in 1982 for $15,000 and extensively restored it to it's original condition (clearly the kitchen, the plumbing and the tv with hockey on it are new). They are selling it with all the furniture and some of the dead animals on the wall.
It is 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 3,800 square feet. Wish I could find out how many acres it is!
It is listed at $2,195,000.
I couldn't live here even though it is a winery because of all those dead animals, but the rest of it is fun to look at. And it probably was pretty amazing having this as summer place for the kids!!!
Maybe if it was done a little more like Douglas Stock's house at 289 Pinehurst in Paris, Ontario...
But there are waaaaay to many dead animals (kind of like that creepy cottage in Muskoka that will never sell for $12,000,000).
My though it less animals and more foosball and video games!!! Maybe even a tiki bar!
