SOLD - 78 North Hills Terrace - DON MILLS
After Kyle of the High Park Edwardian Reno Diary and Roncesvalles Victorian Reno Diary blogs sent this listing to me last week (thanks!), I immediately began preparing to post it.
But it sold before I got a chance.
This house was listed at $739,000.
I thought that was a great price for this house even though it needs a LOT of work. It basically hasn't been touched since the 60s but there is so much potential. I kind of love the green carpet though I am sure after 50+ years that it is probably pretty disgusting. And that grass cloth wallpaper was probably pretty great in its day.
I love the blue light in the dining room and that blue chair in the family room!!!
I almost like it as much as the blue chair from 16 Cornish Road...
Actually, I love them both.
Whoever lived here was a serious reader. The house is covered in books. Even the dryer has books on it!
As I said, this house needs a LOT of work but considering what houses like this have been selling for in Don Mills, this is a good price. But one reader pointed out that this isn't the best quadrant of Don Mills. Perhaps that explains the price and why there are absolutely no new builds on this street. But there are lots of people walking around when you look at the street view, and it looks really family friendly.
Looks like someone saw the potential of this place as well as it sold after 12 days on the market....
For $760,000.
I have no idea what the school situation is in this neighbourhood but my guess is that this will be the next pocket to watch. There are a lot of houses like this one just waiting to be fixed up.......and hopefully not become new builds!!!!
And whatever it does become, just don't mess it up like the house at 87 Berkinshaw Crescent!!
