Hmmm....
In my earlier post at 177 Strathearn Road in Cedarvale (a neighbourhood I want to post more about if only there were more houses!!!), a commentor mentioned this house. They did not have good things to say about it. When I first looked at the pictures, I didn't really understand why.
Then I looked at more pictures.
They were right. This house is a bit of a mess.
Since it was last listed in April of 2012, and since the oven still has the stickers on it, I would say this is some sort of a flip.
The asking price in 2012 was $1,388,800. Not a bad deal for a 4+1 bedroom, 4 bathroom house on a 50 x 120 foot lot even if it did need some work!
Problem is, I don't love the work they have done.
I could be wrong but I think the fireplace mantle is new and I don't love it but I do like the size of the living room and the dining room. The kitchen is new and it is good. Not massive but good. And that family room with the windows is amazing! But the floors. I am not a fan of those floors.
Upstairs, it looks like not all the bathrooms are new but it is hard to tell....and those floors again!
This house was first listed at the beginning of September for $1,998,000. It was too high and the price was dropped at the end of September to $1,869,000.
That was still too high and the price was dropped again in October where it sits now.
The current asking price is $1,799,800.
I think it needs another price drop. Maybe down to $1,599,800.
