173 Lawrence Avenue East - LAWRENCE PARK

Thanks to a comment in a post yesterday, this beauty was brought to my attention

(don't forget, you can also email any finds here!).

It looks like a flip.

And I think this was the inspiration...

It has 8 different types of brick at the front, nine if you count the side and chimney stone.

Obviously, the Friendly Giant wasn't the only CBC (aka Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) kid's show inspriation.

I'm thinking this tree...

And matching fireplace on the inside...

Were inspired by Finnegan's tree house on Mr. Dressup...

Which is now located in the lobby of the CBC...

But though I love Mr. Dressup (well...), I can't talk about Finnegan anymore.

Let's wash that sound away...

Okay, back to the Friendly Giant...

Isn't there something about that window in the front hall...

That makes you think that Jerome the Giraffe is going to poke his head around those curtains?

Speaking of curtains...

WTF!?!

And the tile!?!?!?!?!

Where did they get this from!?!

Actually, there is something I kind of like about that one.  Well, not really but it isn't as bad as this one...

Is that new or did it come with the house?  Maybe that's the 100 years old part.

The dining room has 20, yes TWENTY, pot lights.  The kitchen island looks like it is about 20 inches away from the opposite counter.  The wood separating the living room and dining room is I don't even know what...the white vents, the mismatching door hardware, the stone, the whole kitchen, the fireplace in the backyard!!!!

The asking price is $2,188,000.

I think we will be seeing the Friendly Giant, Jerome the Giraffe, and Rusty the Rooster again soon for that first price drop...
