SUKKAH FOR SALE ON MLS!!!

This Sukkah on a 10 x 10 foot lot is for sale at Nathan Phillips Square!!!

It is the People's Choice Award winner from Sukkahville 2013.

If you are wondering what Sukkahville is, it is a design competition held by Kehilla Residential Programme.  According to the Sukkahville website....

The Kehilla Residential Programme is a non-profit housing agency that began Sukkahville in 2011 to highlight its affordable housing initiatives. Sukkahville helps create a conversation about affordable housing, raises public awareness through an interactive Sukkah exhibition and most importantly, it generates funds for its Rental Assistance Program that helps those who need a home.

What is Kehilla Residential Programme?

Kehilla’s Rental Assistance Program

was established in 2011. It bridges the gap between market rental rates and what a person in need can afford.

  • Assists households spending more than 40% of their income on market rent
  • Provides up to $300 in monthly supports towards rent for Jewish households living in the Community
  • Currently assisting 26 families referred by Jewish agencies
  • Funded by the Prosserman family and surplus funds from Kehilla’s annual fundraiser Sukkahville

And if you are wondering what a Sukkah is, according to Bustler...

A Sukkah is a temporary structure constructed for use annually during the week long Jewish festival of Sukkot. The original source for this tradition is Leviticus 23:42-43, where it is described as a reminder of the booths that the children of Israel dwelt in after God brought them out of their slavery in Egypt.  Many later interpreters have understood the Sukkah as symbolizing the frailty and transience of life.

I guess the photo below shows the designers of the 2013 People's Choice Sukkah in their winning design...
