THE BRIDLE PATH HOUSE FORMERLY OWNED BY THE ARTIST FORMERLY KNOWN AS PRINCE
This is a 3+1 bedroom, 10 bathroom, 14,280 square foot house on a 280.88 x 305.50 foot lot at 61 The Bridle Path.
I don't love posting houses in the Bridle Path because they are usually just ridiculous and generally just remind me of Cher's house from Clueless...
Which this one does(kind of)
But after a reader (thank you S!), sent it in pointing out I might 'know' the owner (or something like that), I double checked the listing and saw this hint...
Formerly Owned By Acclaimed International Music Celebrity!
And this was the first thing that came to mind...
The Artist 'Formerly' Known as Prince.
And it turns out....
This IS the house 'formerly' owned by Prince and his former wife from 2001 to 2006, Menuela Testolini...
She was from Toronto and according to this forum about a Globe and Mail article...
One of the things Prince liked most about Toronto was Speaker's Corner...
As I was looking through the pictures of the house, I was kind of surprised that this was the type of place where Prince would live regardless of the size.
It was just so white. Not purple.
But then I saw this room and it kind of made sense...
Which made me Google Prince because he has kind of been missing...
But he apparently recently did this song.
(the link is no longer working but you can read the lyrics here)
Not saying I'm not loving it (and trust me, it grows on you)...
But...ummm....
'I got the butter for your muffin...'!?!
Reminds me of...
This house is listed at...
$12,788,000.
UPDATE: As you have probably heard, Prince, who performed 2 concerts in Toronto just less than a month ago, has sadly passed away.
And since Prince apparently had a good sense of humour, I thought I would add this sketch based on a true story as told by Charlie Murphy (warning: language)...
And here are some outakes...
And here is the song written by Prince that was inspired by that sketch...
