1 Benvenuto Place #727 - SOUTH HILL

Yesterday, I posted a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom penthouse condo at 650 Mt. Pleasant Road.

It was a flip and, for the most part, they did a good job.  It's just that the location on Mt. Pleasant wasn't the most exciting and the name of the street always reminds me of this guy...

And if you are like the commentor from the house at 46 Gibson Avenue and you are not a fan of having to look at 60s apartment buildings, then this view of Yonge and Davisville wouldn't be for you...

But perhaps the view from this 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 2,296 square foot penthouse with 2 parking spots is a little better....

As long as you don't mind living in a building that was built in the 60s by Page and Steele and designed by architect Peter Dickinson.

Dickinson was the architect behind the Inn on the Park...

The O'Keefe Centre, currently known as the Hummingbird Centre...

And the North Toronto Medical Building...

(the one that possibly inspired the house at 355 Briar Hill Avenue that finally sold in September)

And he was the architect behind this building at 1 Benvenuto Place that is also home to Scaramouche.

It was an apartment building that has now been converted to condos.  And as far as this condo goes, I like it.

I am a little underwhelmed by the kitchen though.  I really like the kitchen itself, but it is small.  I don't understand why there is so much 'breakfast room' space when that could have been used for kitchen...

Or something....there is something weird about it, right?

Otherwise, it's a great condo.  The place is obviously staged as there is no clothing in the closets.  Actually, there is no closet in the closet...

Just a couple of boxes and some art.

Speaking of art...

Isn't this Saskatchewan born William Perehudoff painting in the master bathroom a little much for a bathroom...

And a staged bathroom?

Or is that a knock off?

And who is this?

I know it's Mick Jagger, but who is the artist?

This condo is listed at $2,650,000 with $1,634.53 month condo fees (does that include the 'Hotel Quality Amenities'?).

If the condo on Mt. Pleasant sold for $2,050,000...

With the arguably better views of this place and the walkability to Yorkville and Summerhill...

Even if it is only 2 bedrooms with a not so large kitchen...

I don't see why this can't sell for asking or more.

Then again, it doesn't have 2,000 sqaure feet of outdoor space....but I don't think that matters here.

(thanks S for sending this in!)
