According to the listing for this 5+2 bedroom, 4 bathroom house on a 60 x 220 foot lot at 42 Lakeview Avenue...

This house is called the 'White Castle'.

It's not this white castle...

Or this White Castle...

Actually, it doesn't even look like a castle so I have no idea how it got the name.

But it is a large house on a large lot with a coach house.

It needs work, but there is a lot of potential.  The first floor is great.  I'm getting an eery vibe from the second floor and this isn't helping...

(Why is half of the second floor blocked off!?!)

And that coach house is making me wonder what it was being used for.

But overall, this could be an amazing house with a coach house rental, or a separate house, or a home office (that's what it has been used for, right?)...

And this house would be an amazing single family home.

It's just that it is a LOT of house at a really big price for this area, and considering that the house is right in the middle of the lot, it can't be severed.  

The asking price is...

$2,450,000.

I could be wrong, but the last house that I can remember that sold close to this price in this neighbourhood was the larger move right in house on a similar lot at 250 Rusholme Road...

It sold for $2,250,000 in May 2012.

So...though it has been 2 years...

With this house needing work...

I'm not sure that is going to happen.  It could be pretty amazing though...
