If I were in the market for a traditional yet comfortable country home in the $4 million range...
This would be it.
It is a a 4 bedroom, 4+2 bedroom, 6,315 square foot farmhouse on 50 acres at 5650 Tenth Line.
According to this post when it was listed in August 2013 for $4,350,000, it was designed by architect James Pearson.
This Canadian House and Home feature from 2010 has Jim Pearson as working for Pearson Design Group in Montana, but that site states Larry Pearson as the founder with no Jim Pearson.
So, I am thinking the architect was the James Pearson from Robert A.M. Sterns Design in New York City.*
Especially since according to this other House and Home feature in 2011, the interior design was done by Christie Hansen, apparently also from New York in Southampton.
Regardless of who the architect and interior designer were, there is no disputing that this is a beautiful farmhouse that incorporates the original 1840 structure in what House and Home magazine called an 'Elegant Farmhouse'.
But it looks like the asking price in 2013 was too high as this house was back on the market in November 2014...
For $3,895,000.
Perhaps still a little too high.
But a beautiful property.
