179 Old Yonge Street - YORK MILLS
This is a 5+1 bedroom, 8 bathroom house on a 76.5 x 150 foot lot at 179 Old Yonge Street just north of York Mills and east of Yonge.
It's a rebuild/renovation of a house that looked like this 4 years ago...
And there is something about it that reminds me of the Eager and Lewis and Gervais Design-Build Ltd. house at 1 Blythe Hill Road in Lawrance Park that I posted in July 2013...
I preferred how that one looked from the outside. On the inside, they are similar but this house has white oak floors versus walnut and concrete accents versus black marble (or whatever that is in the Blythe Hill house).
But there is definitely a similar feel with both being on a corner lot.
The house at 1 Blythe Hill Road was listed at $2,995,000. It sold for $2,935,000.
This house is listed at $4,288,000.
Sure, this house has 1 more bedroom and 3 more bathrooms, but there is no dining room, at least not that I see.
I suppose you could move the 'living room' furniture closer to the tv wall and put a dining table where the couch currently is, but then you would break your neck trying to look at the tv.
And though the yard is large, it overlooks Old Yonge Street...
Which isn't exactly quiet.
So, though this is a good house for someone who is into this style...
But I'm thinking an asking price of $4.3 might be a weeeee bit too high.
