the MASH

mishMASH - 1476 Stephen's Bay Road - MUSKOKA

If you are like me and were wondering where everyone was in the city yesterday, my guess is somewhere near water.

And if you are looking to be one of those people next year, this cottage called 'Idylwood' is a pretty good option (assuming your budget is in the millions).

It is a 6 bedroom, 6 bathroom, 6,000 square foot cottage with a boat house and parking for 6 cars. It has forced air and radiant heat, and since it is on land, it is accessable year round which is a plus.

I am just not sure this style of cottage will be for everyone.

It is a little dark with the wood walls, but if you aren't stuck on the look of bringing nature inside as this building was intended, the walls (and maybe ceilings) could be whitewashed.  That would probably brighten it up a lot.

The view is amazing looking up Lake Muskoka with sun all day and an amazing view of the sunset...

But if you have an allergy to duck lice, aka beaver lice or swimmer's itch (yes, it's a thing and it's nasty), this location at the bottom of 3 big lakes might not be the best (just guessing).

Considering it was listed 3 years ago when this video was taken...

And that is was the Cottage of the Week in Toronto Life last summer...

Even though the price has dropped from the $4,950,000 last year's asking price to $4,495,000 this year...

I think the price is a little high still.

Then again, it does look pretty amazing in this video...

Maybe if they throw in the furniture.

And maybe a tub of this...
