AND IT WENT FOR - 27 Alcina Avenue - WYCHWOOD
In October, I posted this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house on a 43.9 x 149 foot lot at 27 Alcina Avenue in Wychwood.
I thought it was worth a post because it was a house that looked like it had remained the same over the last 50 years, and though dated, it looked kind of awesome as it was.
Then I saw this poster...
And these sculptures in the backyard...
And I realized that this was the home of sculptor Leonhard Oesterle...
Who spent most of his life living in this house before he passed away in 2009.
In mid-October, the house was on the market for $1,600,000.
I thought that if someone was interested in buying this house to restore, then the price was pretty high.
But to sever the lot at that price? That might make sense.
It didn't sell and the price was dropped 5 days ago to $1,299,000 which was a pretty tempting price for a sever or a restore.
It sold 3 days later...
For $1,525,000.
