DION PHANEUF'S LAST TORONTO HOME UP FOR SALE!

Last week, a reader emailed to tell me this 6 bedroom, 5 bathroom house on a 75 x 213 foot lot at 45 Russell Hill Road had a 'Coming Soon' sign placed on the front yard.

Which I thought was interesting because

I had posted this house in August 2013.

Then the reader mentioned that they had witnessed former Leafs Captiain, Dion Phaneuf, moving out the day before...

So, considering that he and '24' star,

Elisha Cuthbert

had married a month earlier in July 2013...

It kind of made sense that it was listed in August 2013.

But three weeks after it was listed in August 2013,

it was listed 'For Lease' for $16,800/month.

So, were they the owners or leasing?

Considering this is one of the rooms in the house and they didn't have kids...

I assume that they were leasing, and given the jerseys, perhaps from a friend.

And my guess is that they started leasing in September 2013, some time after

the price drop to $4,495,000

and a few months after their wedding...

Especially since all the furniture is still the same.

Or maybe it was Phaneuf's before the wedding and it just never sold (but that still doesn't explain the kid's room).

Either way, they were definitely living here in the last year since this looks like Elisha Cuthbert walking their dog, Pearl, in front of the house in the streetview from September 2015...

And here is a photo of the same dog from

Phaneuf's Instagram, sitting in the family room of this house...

Taken the day before

Phaneuf's trade to the Senators was announced.

As I mentioned in my first post in 2013, I didn't love everything about the house like the first floor layout because it made the house feel smaller than it was.  And the entryway felt more like a mudroom than a front entrance.

Plus, I wasn't crazy about the toilet being so just...there.

(I feel like it could have somehow been more private.)

Otherwise, it was a great house with a great feel.

In August 2013, this house was listed at $4,788,000.  I didn't think it would sit for long but that it probably wouldn't sell for asking.

Looks like it didn't sell (given the same furniture) and now that Phaneuf and Cuthbert (who now goes by Phaneuf) have moved out, this house is listed again.

The asking price is the same as the

September 2013 price drop

...

$4,495,000.

And if you want to check it out, instead of an open house, there is a wine and cheese scheduled for Friday.

But you won't be able to snoop through the Phaneuf's things (if that is the sick stuff you are into)...

Because, as I mentioned, the Phaneufs have already moved out.
