AND IT WENT FOR - 4A Kimberley Avenue - UPPER BEACHES

At the end of May, I posted

this 3+1 bedroom, 2 bathroom laneway house at 4A Kimberley Avenue in the Upper Beaches.

It was a very charming house that was once home to Rosemarie Popham, a well-known child advocate who

campaigned for the eradication of child poverty, until her death in 1998 at 54.

In June 2015, a laneway was named after her and her children and Terry Lee, Popham's widower, shared their memories of the house and laneway in

this Inside Toronto article.

When I first saw the house, it reminded me of a very charming version of the house at

30 Hanson Street

...

That

sold for $165,000 in September 2013.

But that house was tiny on a tiny lot and didn't have running water.

This house had 3 bedrooms (though kind of oddly laid out), a large living room, a good kitchen, and a family room.  And it had a nice yard.

It was listed at $949,000.  I thought it could sell for $1,049,000.

It

sold

in 8 days at the beginning of June...

For $975,000.
