468 Wellington Street West #201 - KING WEST (3 Comments)

The former loft of famed shrunken head collector, Billy Jamieson, is for sale again.

I posted it when it was listed in December 2011 after Billy passed away suddenly in the summer of 2011.  Apparently Jeanne Beker did an interview with him in the loft but I couldn't find it.   But here is Billy with one of his heads in this apartment...

And as I mentioned in that post...

The loft has not only seen the famous collection of shrunken heads, electric chairs, mummies and coffins but many famous people as well such as Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler.

Here are some photos of a Halloween party hosted by Billy and his fiance, Jessica Phillips where you can get a glimpse of the house and its history.

When it was listed at the end of 2011, the asking price was $2,990,000. I said...

That isn't a bad price for the size, location and history of this loft located in what has been voted one of the City's 'Top 10' buildings by Toronto Life.

And though his huge collection of tribal art won't stay, perhaps the stripper pole will.

Well, the stripper pole is gone.  In fact, the whole loft has been completely redone with new light grey tiled floor, white paint, a new kitchen, and what seems to be a new stair case.  According to the listing, it has had over $1 million in upgrades.

It is 6,000 square feet over 3 floors with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The current asking price is...

$6,700,000.

At that price, would you prefer this place or the loft with the huge rooftop deck at 1 Roof Garden Lane that is listed at $6,495,000.
