14 Evans Avenue - HIGH PARK (11 Comments)
This is a 4+1 bedroom, 5 bathroom house with 3 parking spots on a 28.50 x 109.17 foot lot at 14 Evans Avenue just north of Bloor Street West in High Park.
The listing says it is 'newly built' which I guess means 'rebuilt' because this is what it looked like in 2014...
My guess is that the house used to look like the one to the left in the photo.
As far as rebuilds go, it's done well. The front...
Kind of reminds me of a house boat...
But if you are into that look, it's done well and it sort of fits in with all the other new builds like the ones across the street...
Inside, it's also good.
I'm not crazy about the wood wall on the stairs and the furniture isn't necessarily my thing. But the house is bright and there is room for a family room.
But then I saw the kitchen and my reaction was...
What are those cabinets!?!
And what is that layout? Maybe it's just the angle...
Nope, not the angle. Those are barn board cabinets. That, I'm not so into.
But if you are into it and don't mind the layout of the kitchen being cut off from the family room (which from another angle is kind of small), then this is done really well.
Upstairs, the rooms are a good size with Giovanni Barbieri tile in the shower (also not so sure I'm into that). But I am definitely not into the newspaper wall beside the bathtub...
But that could probably be changed.
So, if you are into the quirks or happy to change them, this is a good house with lots of outdoor space.
The asking price is...
$2,399,000.
Hmmm. I wonder what they bought it for.
