124 Park Road - ROSEDALE, TORONTO (12 Comments)
Two years ago, I posted this 5 bedroom, 9 bathroom house with a 3 car garage at 124 Park Road in south Rosedale.
It is a house called Caverhill that was built in 1855 and is apparently the second home built in Rosedale.
It used to be one of the many abandoned houses in Rosedale, and owned by the Thompson Family I guess until the current owner bought and brought fully up-to-date.
According to the 2008 Toronto Life article about the then owner, David Berry, he and his wife bought this house for $5,460,000 in 2002. In the article, he said...
“Just last year, I had someone knock on our door and put in an offer to buy the place for $15 million,” Berry says. “Steve Stavro and Gerry Schwartz might have spent that kind of money on their places, but I didn’t.”
Eight years later and it was on the market for $17,700,000.
It's an impressive house with an underground tunnel to another house on the property, an almost 1 acre lot, a pool, and 27 cameras throughout the house...
But $18 million? That's a LOT.
Two years later and it's back on the market (with a lot less photos).
There is some furniture that is new like that zebra couch in the kitchen but it is mostly the same furniture. I guess people agreed that $18 million was a lot and it never sold.
The new asking price is...
