56 Lakeview Avenue - DUFFERIN GROVE, TORONTO (3 Comments)

Years ago, I posted this house at 56 Lakeview Avenue in the Dufferin Grove neighbourhood in Toronto. It looked like this…

It was a house that was in rough shape with a living room that looked like this…

And a kitchen that looked like this…

It was listed at $749,900 and sold for $930,000.

A couple of years later, the attached neighbour at 58 Lakeview Avenue with the fridge on the front porch in the photo above sold for $1,176,000. It was renovated and listed as a duplex two years later in 2017 with an asking price of $1,849,000. It sold for $2,055,000.

Two years after that sale, this house that has been totally renovated and is now a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with a detached garage on a 20.73 x 110 foot lot is on the market.

And it’s a good house.

There is something about it that reminds me of the house at 23 Rolyat Street

It’s the stairs and railing and the layout of the master closets in the hallway to the bedroom. But I do like this house more. I don’t love the original brick of the fireplace and would prefer it if it were painted. And I don’t get the plywood flooring in the third floor.

Other than that, it has good finishes with a big kitchen.

The asking price is $2,498,000.

I don’t think it will sit for long.

Actually, I can no longer find it on the agent’s site so maybe it is gone already.
