HOUSE AND HOME MAGAZINE OWNER LISTS OWN HOME

Lynda Reeves, prominent designer and owner of House and Home magazine, is listing her home.

It is this 3+1 bedroom, 6 bathroom house with a 2 car garage on a 75.85 x 265 foot lot at 1 Highland Avenue in Rosedale and as you would expect, it is done very well.

When I went through the photos, I couldn’t put my finger on who the designer was that was mentioned in the listing until I came to this photo…

I recognized it from this House and Home video featuring Reeves and this kitchen (video will open in new window). Not sure how or when I saw that video but it clearly stuck with me.

That kitchen was also in this video released last May featuring Reeves touring her house with designer Brian Gluckstein of Brian Gluckstein Design

(BTW, this was one episode of 15 that took place last year that I have just learned about)

And of course, the house shows amazingly well. Personally, I don’t love the dark floors mainly because as they mentioned, the are so much work. But they do look great if you have enough light in your house and no shedding pets.

Speaking of the light, I can’t figure out the light in this house. The rooms are kind of dark like it is raining outside and the yard looks wet but the sun is shining on the hedges. Or maybe it is just the time of the year if they did the photos recently with the sun being so low throughout the day right now.

But there is no denying this is a great house.

I think Reeves has been here for a while because I can’t find the last listing price but my guess is perhaps when the original R. Y. Eaton’s ‘Kilrea’ Estate was divided into 3 separate residences

. But it is now listed perhaps for the first time since then for…

$9,500,000.

Does it come with the art and the furniture? I like those Kelly Wearstler chairs.
