147 Hanson Street - THE DANFORTH, TORONTO
The first thing I thought of when I saw the photos for this 2+2 bedroom, 3 bathroom new build with a detached 1 car garage on a 20.01 x 100 foot lot at 147 Hanson Street in the Danforth neighbourhood in Toronto like this photo…
Was this…
The Umbra Fish Hotel.
It also reminded me a bit of the house at 80 Condor Avenue in the Pocket…
But that one looked more like a ship than a fish tank.
This house used to look like this…
It was listed in February 2018 for $549,000 and sold for $635,000.
It was torn down and replaced with this house designed by architect Johnson Chou and was listed in October for $1,499,000. I guess they wanted more because the price was increased a week later to $1,800,000.
They didn’t get that price either and the 2 months after that listed ended, this house is back on the market for…
$1,699,000.
While it creates a lot of light, I think if the first floor had taken up the full foot print and created more interior living space instead of the courtyard balcony, that might happen. Otherwise, it feels like a lot of wasted space. Also, it needs a fence. That basement family room is great though.
P.S. Here is the walkthrough if you are interested.
