This house is clearly part of a 2 house new build.

Two years ago, this house....

 was listed at $769,000.

Clearly a builder snatched up one of the few remaining bungalows in the nieghbourhood and did some building.  Instead of one huge $2-3,000,000 house, they built two 3 storey homes with 20 foot lots a piece.

The result is pretty nice but I thought it was a lot nicer when I thought it was listed at $1,189,900.  Instead it is listed at $1,289,900 and that is after a price drop from $1,329,000.

And there are some quirks.  Like that dining room.  It's too bad they didn't make the kitchen a little less huge so that there would be room for a larger table.  The kitchen itself is very nice though I am not crazy about that wine rack being the first thing you see from the front door.  It should be on the other end, just past the spot where they should have extended the island to make an eating area, replacing the dinky table that is there.

The built-ins in the family room and master bedroom are great.  And I like the washrooms.

This whole walk out from the basement trend kind of drives me crazy though.  This house could have a nice large deck in what is a pretty narrow lot.  Unfortunately it is almost unusable except for a chair or two and a barbecue because of that walk out.

All in all, a nice house, and if you can get it for $1,199,000, I think you got a good deal!
