8 Trefann Street - CORKTOWN

If this house looks familiar, it is because it was featured in The Globe and Mail's Architecture section in October 2011.

According to the Globe and Mail, the land that this house sits on was purchased for $50,000.

It is now listed for $1,199,900.

It is a 2 bedrooms and at least 2 bathrooms spread over 2,300 square feet and 5 stories.

The pictures below are from several sources (not including the Facebook post) so there has been some furniture rearranging from shot to shot but you get the idea.

The backsplash in the kitchen and wall tile in the bathroom are from the marble slabs that were taken off of First Canadian Place and I love the size of them.  The living room isn't huge but more furniture rearranging might fix that.

All that steel might seem like too much but as the G&M article states, this lot is zoned for commercial and 'it has to meet the higher standards for fire safety required of commercial buildings'.

Currently, this neighbourhood isn't the best but that is slowly changing.

For a professional couple, this could be the perfect home.

If the laneway house in my last post at 15A Grove in Beaconsfield Village sold for $865,000, do you think this place could sell for $334,900 more!?!  It is definitely a better house by far but that seems like a lot.  It is a pretty unique house though!  Too bad that banquet takes up so much room...
