289 Pinehurst Road - PARIS, ONTARIO

This 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house in Paris just north of Brantford reminds me of the house at 115 Morrison in Oakville.  Both are old Ontario homes but this one is bigger with 7,000 square feet on 12.5 acres and it is older, having been built in 1855

It is a beautiful stone house (I really, really love the exposed old stone in the kitchen and carriage house) and it is decorated with a TON of antiques.

Douglas Stocks, owner of Maus Park Antiques, located in the barn adjacent to the house, past president of the Canadian Antiques Dealers Association, and host of History's Pawnathon, bought the house 25 years ago and restored it.  Much of what is located in the house is also part of the store.

For example, this Swedish/Russion 19 Century chandelier is for sale on the store's website for only $32,000...

The house has been featured in several magazines such as Country Living as well as Canadian House and Home where Douglas Stocks talks about the house and the restoration...

I am not sure if there is a serious reason behind this sale or just a change of pace after 25 years but it is for sale nonetheless...

For $2,995,000.

Did I mention there is also a 9 hole par 3 golf course and a Bocce court!?!

Hopefully it doesn't become a bed and breakfast because it could be a really nice bed and breakfast.

This is an impressive house and is currently a clearly loved home.  It should stay that way.

And it went for...
