82 Madison Avenue - ANNEX
Do people REALLY need an elevator in their house?
No one really needs a 4 bedroom (well maybe 4 bedrooms), 7 bathrooms, a gym, a media room, a wine cellar, or a wall full of cooking appliances either.
But an elevator? I just don't get the elevator thing.
This house was last listed at the end of November 2011 for $1,450,000.
I am not sure what it sold for but it is now listed for 3 times that!!
$4,300,000!
It is a huge house and anyone would be lucky to live here but why did they get rid of that window at the back of the house over looking the backyard? There is one window in the kitchen and the only view it provides is of the neighbour's old garage. And that new door in the sitting room just looks directly at the side of the neighbour's wall since that house is HUGE and goes really far back.
I don't understand why people block off views of their own backyard? If you are spending that much money, why not just square off the back of the house and create a family room with big windows overlooking the backyard?
I am assuming the dining room fits a bigger table than that little 3 seater.
And I have seen weird staging before but I have never seen paper garments hanging from coat hangers in the closet!! That is interesting.
This house reminds me a lot of the Rosedale house at 10 Hawthorn that is listed at $5,398,000. Not the actual style inside but the size and the look of the front of the house.
That house was traditional and this.......isn't.
This house has a very unique style that will not be for everyone.
Even though it is 4 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms on a 33.33 x 127 foot lot with all the unnecessary luxuries of a new build and taxes of only $10,892.80 (taxes at 10 Hawthorn are $26,783.71!), I don't think this house will sell right away.
And probably closer to $3.79.
For this asking price, that back sitting room just doesn't make sense.
