FOR LEASE - 78 Clarendon Avenue - SOUTH HILL
If this 5+1 bedroom, 8 bathroom, 7,000 square foot home on a 50 x 176 foot lot looks familiar it is because it was listed in September 2011 and sat on the market for months.
The first asking price was $2,995,000.
It sat at that price for a little over a month before they dropped it to $2,795,000.
Again it sat so they dropped the price in January 2012 to $2,495,000.
I am not certain, but I think it sold sometime in the summer for low $2.3s.
At the time it was listed, I didn't post it because there wasn't a lot that stood out to me. It was big house in South Hill but it was stuffy and overpriced. That was about it.
But the fact that it used to belong to this guy should have been reason enough...
So when I saw that this place was now for lease after recently selling, I decided to take a closer look.
Clearly I didn't look at enough photos when it was listed for sale! WHAT is with that solarium family room!?!
It looks like one of the pavillions at the zoo!
How could this have been approved by the city!?!
No wonder this place didn't sell for initial asking!!!!
And why it is for lease after selling recently, I do not know. But it is currently for lease for $10,500/month.
For that kind of money, I would be more inclined to lease a house like the one at 204 Balmoral Avenue. Sure, it's $2,000 more and now longer on the market but at least it doesn't have a tropical plant filled solarium family room.
Bet THAT one pissed off the neighbours!!!
