385 Clinton Street - CHIRSTIE PITS
The person (thanks S!) who sent in the listing to this 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom house on a 24.08 x 135.5 foot lot mentioned that she went to see this house before it was flipped.
And she described it as a dump.
Here are the BEFORE pictures....
I think 'dump' is putting it mildly!!!!
This house as it was, especially that basement...
Reminds me of the last scene in the Blair Witch Project
!!! You know the one where the guy is in the corner...
Speaking of BWP, was I the only one who go completely obsessed with that movie? I was scouring chat rooms and websites, ANYTHING trying to figure that thing out! I was obsessed!!!
Oh, wait....that was Memento.
Back to the house...
When you see how this house USED to look, you have to say that this flip is REALLY good.
Unless you start to consider what you have to fork over to live here and all the things that are still a little odd.
They got rid of that fireplace...
But the replacement is not amazing...
I don't understand the rearrangement of rooms and why they got rid of so many walls. The original floor plan was great for a living room/dining room with a separate kitchen and family room. I don't get why they did that.
I also don't get the front door being so open to the house.
And is it just me or do the floors still look wet? The person who sent in the listing also went to see this house after the flip and mentioned that the floors weren't done, not wet but not finished. They needed another coat of varnish but to me, they still look wet. Maybe they should lay off the varnish....
This house was last listed in November 2012 for $725,000 and ultimately sold for $810,000 (as per the reader).
Now, only six months later, this house is now listed at $1,399,000.
They did a LOT of work on this house, but $1.4!?!
Like the house at 262 Lisgar Street, I don't think this style will be for everyone. And like that house, there are quirks.
That house sold for $1,280,000. And though people thought it was the neighbours that hindered that sale, I think it was the reno and the high price.
Like that house, this house is a little odd. But this house has a family room.
I think it will sell for close to what Lisgar sold for. Maybe $1,275,000.
But not $1.4.
P.S. Those plants need to go.
