5 Millbank Avenue - FOREST HILL
This is a lot of house....
But this is not a $6,680,000 house.
It is 2 doors down from the house I posted on Wednesday at 9 Millbank Avenue. That house was 5+1 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms in 7,000 square feet. It could use some updating (like the kitchen) but it was an amazing house. It sold for $3,700,000.
This is also a 5+1 bedroom, 7 bathroom house but it is on a much wider lot.
And it is a new build.
So...what is the story with the garage?
A 2 garage tandem garage!?! For $7 million!?!
As the person who sent this in (thanks R!), if you have that much money to spend on a house, you probably have at least one car that can only be insured if it is in a garage. Not to mention your regular everyday Forest Hill car...like a Range Rover.
So why didn't they build a garage with an elevator to the basement like the house at 62 Forest Hill Road...
Do you really need a 'dance/exercise' room or whatever this thing is (that for some reason is open to the entertainment area)....
Not to mention that they wasted all that space BELOW the garage so that it could hold the weight above.
Not great planning.
And that alcove into the kitchen? Nice in theory but at $7 million, you probably want to entertain and show off how much money you spent on your house so having the kitchen open like that isn't the best.
Oh, and that office....it bugs me more than the garage situation.
Of course, this actually isn't the worst new build out there AT ALL.
I suppose the house is better than what was there before ....
