61 Astley Avenue - ROSEDALE (UPDATE)
Right now, there are 5 houses in North Rosedale that are priced between $1.6 and $1.8 million. I thought maybe this one might be the sixth, perhaps a little higher (because it doesn't seem all that big)...
Until I saw the inside.
If you don't like concrete, you are not going to be into this house. But I love concrete. And I like this house.
I just don't love the layout.
The listing says that it is 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms on a 26.75 x 243.5 foot lot, but it is really 3+1 bedrooms. The plus one is on the ground floor behind the garage. So, doesn't it make more sense as an office and the bedroom would go down to the basement? I guess if you switched it though, that bedroom wouldn't have a shower that opened up to the trees like it does now.
And it would still only be 3+1 bedrooms.
Also, like the house at 360 Walmer Road in Casa Loma that has had 6 price drops, there is no dining room area. Just some seats around the counter. But unlike that house, this house has the space to incorporate a table if you wanted one!
Not to mention that this house is sooooo much better than Walmer. And it is listed just under $1,000,000 LESS than Walmers's original listing price!!!
This house is listed at $2,395,000.
So, more than the other 5 house in North Rosedale, but worth it.
This house won't sit for long.
If this is your style, this place is a much better option than the house just a few streets over at 63 Douglas Crescent that was listed at $2,999,999 (originally listed at $3,450,000 and I 'm pretty sure never sold)!!!!
It 's like a narrower but longer, updated version of the house at 20 Bennington Heights Drive that I really liked that sold for $2,440,000 in February.
And the person who is going to like this style is going to LOVE this house.
Plus, it has Pellegrino.
This will probably sell over.
UPDATE: thanks to the commentor below who sent in the link to yesterday's Globe and Mail article about this house.
Turns out, the house is owned by this guy...
His name is Stephan Moccio and he co-wrote that Olympics song, 'I Believe' (sorry if it is stuck in your head now)...
And a few other songs you might know.
Here he is talking about his music in 2007...
By the way, where did Zain Meghji go?
He also wrote the theme song for the Camilla Scott show!
Which reminds me! I wonder if she ever sold her condo at 25 Scrivener Square!
Moccio was also a co-writer of a song you might have heard a few times on the radio recently.
Yup! The one where Miley needs to drink a BIG glass of water.
Wonder if the concrete in his house was the inspriration for the video!
And why are they selling? They are moving to California.
To write more Miley songs.
