28 Forest Ridge Drive - UPPER FOREST HILL

The inside of this 4+1 bedroom, 5 bathroom, 5,550 square foot house on a 50 x 121 foot lot  at 28 Forest Ridge Drive in Upper Forest Hill....

Is not what I was expecting at all.

Though I like the windows...with that stone, I was expecting an ornate iron bannister, lots of beige paint, dark shiny hardwood, maybe some gold curtains, and a kitchen with lots of finials.

Instead, I was shocked when I saw the front hall tile.

The bannister on the stairs is simple, there is no beige, the floors are medium toned and look oiled, and the kitchen is simple.

I love it.

Other than the barn door that I don't love so much, the rest of this house is simple.

The kitchen actually kind of reminds me of a coffee shop.

Something like Rooster Coffee House without the chandeliers...

(there is another coffee shop in Toronto that it looks like more but I can't place it)

And I am good with that.

It's interesting that the wood floor switches directions when you get to the kitchen.  Normally, that would bug me but I kind of like it here.

There is a mudroom with a dog shower.  The upstairs is good, the basement is good, the backyard is good.

Sure, it's a new build (or is it rebuild?) with a new build layout...

But it is a great family house.

But considering that the 5+1 bedroom, 5 bathroom house on a 50 x 123.33 foot lot at 72 Prue Avenue in Englemount a few streets north sold for $2,080,000 in the summer...

Is the price for this house that has 2 offices instead of a proper living room and fewer bedrooms too high?

This house is listed at $2,893,000.

My choice is definitely this house over Prue.

I'm just not sure it's going to sell for asking.
