299 Kennedy Avenue - HIGH PARK
This is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom detached house on a 35 x 120 foot lot with a private drive at 299 Kennedy Avenue in High Park.
It's a good looking house from the outside and the inside was renovated in 2012 with the help of designer, Connie Braemar.
For the most part, I really like it. The floors are darker than I normally like, but it looks good here. I am not loving the fireplace at ALL. And I don't love the tile in the powder room.
Speaking of the powder room, I have no idea why it is located in prime outdoor window space...
Why wouldn't they have put the powder room where the sink is and then move the kitchen towards the back and have big doors opening to the backyard?
And for a house with 4 bedrooms, there is only one bathroom. It would be like that IKEA commercial where the mom and 3 kids are all in the washroo and the dad walks in with the paper under his arm. Gross.
I guess someone could always use that bathroom in the basement, but as there is a kitchen, it could be rented out. If it isn't rented, that kitchen just takes up a lot of space.
And if you aren't into a backyard that is ALL deck, you won't be into this backyard.
Other than those quirks, this is a great family house, and it does have a garage that is 'a fully serviced raw coach house'...whatever that means.
But there is no family room and with all of the weird quirks...
Combined with the $1,734,000 asking price...
This might not work for a lot of families.
That private drive is pretty awesome though. I'm just don't think it's going to be $1.725 awesome.
