HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! (UPDATE) (4 Comments)

It's been a long break but we are back!

And we are back with a sale of house that was on the market for 3 years.

In 2012, this 6 bedroom, 9 bathroom, 24,000 square foot house on an 830,000 square foot private island in the middle of Mille Îles River at 175 Rue de l'Îles Gagnon in Laval, Quebec was put on the market for $29,655,500...

It had been the on the cover of the National Post Homes Section not only because of the price, but because it was owned by none other than Céline Dion and René Angélil...

The paper had called it the 'Buckingham Palace of Canada'...

Though this isn't my style (I preferred her Florida home), if this is your style, this is quite a unique property in Quebec.

But $30 million!?!

Even though this was the home to Dion, that was a little high.

After a price drop at some point to $25,500,000, this house finally sold a month after the passing of Dion's husband in January 2015.

According to the Montreal Gazette, this house sold in February 2015 to Richard Stern, President of Olymbec...

For $10,000,000.

Although that is only a third of the initial asking price...

It sold!!!

UPDATE:  Looks like Dion is getting rid of another property.  As reported today by the Daily Mail (yes, I read the Daily Mail), Celine Dion is now selling her home in Paris.  It is a 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom house over 4 floors in the gated community of Villa Montmorency.   The asking price is $12,500,000 CDN or 9,000,000.
