175 Rue Somerville - MONTREAL, QUEBEC
In September, I posted a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house in the Laurentians at 5 Place d'Anjou in Estérel, Quebec...
It was a house designed by architect Roger D'Astous, the one time student of Frank Lloyd Wright, and the former collegue of the architect who designed this house, Jacques Vincent.
This house was commissioned in 1962 by Raymond Miron, of the Saint-Michael quarry family, for his daughter, Raymonde.
It is a 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom house on a 20,000 square foot waterfront lot at 175 Rue Somerville in the Anhuntsic neighbourhood of Montreal.
It has had 3 owners with the most recent owner being Guy Gervais, the founder and president of a Montreal based stone and tile company, Ceragres (there is a showroom off of Caledonia in Toronto).
According to this article in La Presse, this house 'had been preserved and restored and needed only to be updated'.
Most of the main floor remains as it was with the stone on the fireplace, the Alfred Pellan mural on the pool wall, here is more of his work...
And the wood kitchen that was done by the previous owners. Even the blue tile in the main bathroom remains...
Unfortunately, the Kon-Tiki bar was removed from the basement leaving only a few Polynesians totems...
Fortunately, the hair salon is still intact...
In 2015, this house was originally listed at $3.5 million.
It hasn't sold and is now on the market for...
$2,850,000.
