This is a 3+1 bedroom, 7 bathroom detached house on a 37.6 x 122.5 foot lot at 2044 44 Avenue SW in the Altadore neighbourhood of Calgary.
It is a new build done by Trickle Creek Homes on a lot where the house used to look like this...
And I really like it.
It is bright but not too bright with dark features like the kitchen cabinets and the fireplace wall. The carpet upstairs seems a little weird to me but at least it is new carpet considering this is a new build. But I would have preferred the wood with a large area rug in each room instead.
The third floor is interesting being a huge family room instead of adding another bedroom or 2. But if you don't need more bedrooms, this is a good space.
There are no photos of the basement and the backyard seems to be still underconstruction. And considering the listing says that possession will be in the fall of 2018, I'm guessing the basement isn't done though I would really like to see it.
But this house seems to have everything for a family like a large kitchen, a mudroom, a walk-through pantry to what could be a private office, tons of bathrooms and the bedrooms are all a good size (though I think 1 more would be good).
So, I am not sure why it has been on the market for so long. According to the listing, it has been on the market for 171 days (or about 6 months). Maybe it's because possession isn't for another 9 months?
Or maybe it's the price.
This house is listed at $1,890,000.
Too much for Calgary? Hmmm, I don't know. The 9 months (minimum) thing is probably the bigger factor here.
