30 Queen Mary's Drive - THE KINGSWAY, TORONTO *UPDATE* (8 Comments)
This is a 3+2 bedroom, 4 bathroom house with 6 parking spots on a 49.34 x 127.08 foot lot at 30 Queen Mary's Drive in the Kingsway.
It's a house that looked like this in 2014 when it was last for sale...
So, they did some landscaping and I am assuming a top to bottom renovation minus this bathroom...
(they added a new vanity and a glass shower partition, but why leave that tile?)
If you are good with only 3 above ground bedrooms (actually, it's really only 2+1 with the +1 being an attic room or 'loft'), or you have teenagers who would prefer to live in the basement, then this is a great house.
For some reason, it reminds me of the house at 229 Wright Avenue...
Perhaps it is the 2 storey living room. But this house was not done by the same person as that house.
This house was done by architect Ron Carter of R.H. Carter Architects Inc.. And after noticing that another house on the website seemed to be done by the same owner...
I did a quick reverse search and this looks to be the architect's own home (I wonder if this house from the website is his house as well because I love it.)
Bu other than this house and one or 2 more houses, it looks like the majority of this architect's work is car dealerships. But perhaps he should start doing more houses if he doesn't already because this is a great house.
It is listed at $3,500,000.
For a young family, this layout with the limited bedrooms upstairs may not work...
*UPDATE*: After only 24 hours on the market, apparently this house sold yesterday.
Especially at that price. But for a family with teenagers who want some privacy in the basement, not to mention there is a party garage in the back...
It's kind of amazing.
