PRICE DROP - 316 Indian Road - HIGH PARK, TORONTO (8 Comments)

At the beginning of March, I posted this 3+1 bedroom, 5 bathroom home on a 45 x 130 lot house in High Park that had been redone in the 80s by British architect, Edward Jones.

It was a house that I had posted a long time ago when it looked like this...

Even though it had been designed by a well renowned British architect who most recently redesigned the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Opera House in London...

I thought this place was kind of a mess.

The first floor layout wasn't very practical and this was the third floor master suite...

It was listed at $1,575,000.  I thought it was more of a $1,375,000 house.

It never sold and was back on the market a little over a year later in June 2013 with a few changes like updating this kitchen from this...

To this...

And then, a year later, they put the house back on the market for $1,790,000.

I'm not sure what it sold for but there is new furniture and the kitchen as had a few touch ups and now looks like this...

And the paint has changed from this...

To this...

Which makes a HUGE difference.  But not much else was changed except for maybe the basement bathroom.

It was back on the market for $3,388,000.

New paint and kitchen handles and the price was DOUBLED in less than 5 years!?!

Yeah, no.

A little over a month later, the price has been dropped.

The new asking price for this house is...

$2,988,000.
