*UPDATE* - 32 Saintfield Avenue - BRIDLE PATH, TORONTO

This house has a of potential.

It is a 4+1 bedroom, 4 bathroom house on a 102 x 118 foot lot at 32 Saintfield Avenue in the Bridle Path neighbourhood in Toronto.

And it is a home designed by architect Jerome Markson of Jerome Markson Architect Inc..

He graduated from the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture at the University of Toronto in 1953 and went on to have a 6 decade career. Here he is with his wife Mayta and Daniels faculty members at an exhibit of his work last January

The exhibit coincided with a book signing for the book about Markson’s work written by Daniels associate professor Laura Miller (standing in the middle above)…

The foreword for the book was done by Daniels professor emeritus George Baird (standing on the right above) with contributions done my Daniels graduate and architectural photographer Scott Nosworthy (not shown).

And while I can’t track down a lot of other private residences done by Markson in Toronto, he is known for several homes in Hamilton including this house at 47 Amelia Street

Though he is also known for the social housing, and cultural and institutional buildings he designed.

This house looks like it has had some updates since it was built but those updates are starting to be dated. And if it was done sort of like the house at 41 Alcina Avenue in Wychwood

It could be great.

But considering some other houses on the street like the immediate neighbour look like this…

It’s very possible this will be torn down.

This house is listed at $4,788,000?

It is a big lot and a potentially amazing house…

But is that too much?

UPDATE: Looks like this was the right price because this house sold the day it was listed and a day before I posted it…

For $4,800,000.
