Hi.

41 Alcina Avenue - WYCHWOOD, TORONTO

This is a great reno of a mid-century heritage property.

It is a house located at 41 Alcina Avenue in Wychwood that was built in 1955 for artist York Wilson and his wife, Lela and designed by architect John B. Layng…

The last time it was for sale was in 2013 when it looked like this…

I don’t know who the new architect/designer was who did the recent renovation but it looks great. The only thing I am not crazy about is the stainless steel kitchen (which is still pretty great and looks even better in the video below) but otherwise, this place is amazing.

But, it is only 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on a 40 x 149 foot lot.

It is a pretty great house though and if you want to learn more about what makes it qualify for heritage designation, you can read the City of Toronto document about it here.

In 2013 before the updated renovation, the asking price was $2,295,000 and it sold for $2,157,000.

After the renovation, this house is now listed at…

$6,000,000.

UPDATE: According to a commenter below, the architect for this house is Angela Tsementzis. And while the kitchen of this house is very impressive, I would have preferred something like the kitchen of her first house, Concrete House
