11 Lynwood Avenue - CASA LOMA, TORONTO

A few years ago, I posted a renovated semi at 21 Clarendon Avenue in South Hill in Toronto

It was a recently renovated house that showed really well if you were into a lot of white, black, tan/brown, and marble.

I was not aware of who did the renovation until a reader mentioned that it was the home of interior designer Montana Labelle and her builder husband, Russell Gozlan of Gozlan Group.

When that house was listed in 2017, the asking price was $1,869,000 and it sold for $2,000,000. They then redid it put it on the market for $4,488,000. It didn’t sell and the price was dropped to $3,950,000. It eventually sold for $3,640,000.

They then purchased this house at 11 Lynwood Avenue in Casa Loma in Toronto a few months later for $3,150,000 when it was a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with a 2 car detached garage on a 33 x 132 foot lot.

Like the Clarendon house, they totally gutted this house but the end result was not a lot of white. It was more earthy tones with design that is kind of giving me 70s meets Aztec design. And it won’t be for everyone but it is definitely a beautiful house whether you are into it or not.

But $5,980,000 for what is now a 4 bedroom, 6 bathroom house?

It may be a little high like the Clarendon house. But you can’t dispute that it is original. Maybe they will throw in the furniture? Might make it easier for the movers.

P.s. There are no photos of the front of the house but I am assuming from this first photo below that it is painted all white like the Clarendon house. Also, the walk through is worth it.

NOTE: this was updated to included a photo of the front of the house above.
