490 Cooper Street - CENTRETOWN, OTTAWA
Last month, a reader sent in this 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom semi on a 28.8 x 112 foot lot at 490 Cooper Street in Centretown in Ottawa.
It's a large semi located in downtown Ottawa with lots of space and 4 parking spots.
When I first saw the photos, the first thing I thought of was that it felt like a cross between the semi at 659 Dovercourt Road...
And the large detached house at 336 Palmerston Avenue in Toronto...
On the inside, it immediately made me think of the house at 298 Berkeley Street in Moss Park...
The living room isn't as big but it has a similar feel throughout.
It's a move-in-ready house but if I were to make some changes, I would open the kitchen to the family room in the back (but leave that second staircase) and modernize it. I would also try to add another bathroom somewhere (maybe in that laundry room/gym). And I would lighten up the paint.
But technically, this is still a great move-in-ready house close to the river, restaurants, shopping, and parliament hill.
In Toronto, this house would probably be listed around $2,000,000...maybe more with that parking.
In Ottawa, this house is listed at...
$950,000.
