mishMASH Monday
This 4 bedroom, 3,900 square foot house located at 4341 West 3rd Avenue in Point Grey, Vancouver (one of the best neighbourhoods in the city) looks to be a new flip. Either that or the owners only wanted to decorate the second floor with a bed in the master bedroom and leave the other bedrooms empty.
Personally, I prefer the old school arts and crafts look of Vancouver homes but this seems to be the new look of Vancouver.
This isn't my favourite example of new Vancouver though.
The inside is nice and the view is spectacular (though the best one is from the ROOF) but there are some issues. The front is bad, the doors inside the house are ugly, there is that railing again (maybe I am missing something), that front foyer is TINY and instead of an elevator (!?!) how about creating a larger closet and foyer area and a bigger bedroom upstairs?
If I was paying $4,598,000 for a house, I would damn well want it to be great!!!
This house isn't great.
But for $1,800,000 it is!!
Compared to this 4 bedroom home at 108 Blantyre Avenue and this 4 bedroom at at 149 Ronan Avenue in Toronto, all basically listed for $1,800,000, this house in Vancouver would sell in a second with those views.
Are Vancouver views of rooftops and mountains really worth $2,800,000!?!
The house at 79 Fishleigh Drive in the Cliffside, Toronto neighbourhood is the closest thing that compares for views (albeit Lake Ontario) but it is still only (yeah, I said only) $2,195,000!
HALF of what the Vancouver place is listed at.
NUTS.
....Vancouver or bust!
But I guess it is all better than what was there before!!!!!!!
