68 Dovercourt Road - BEACONSFIELD VILLAGE

The listing starts off saying, "Welcome To 68 Dovercourt Rd; Initially The House Of Lady Peel."

I have no idea who Lady Peel is so I looked her up.  She was an actress.

Here she is with Noel Coward in 1920.

I am guessing this was the house she was born in.  That is probably what 'initially the house of' means.

And I am assuming it didn't have that green siding and orange paint back then.

It might still look like that now though because there is no current picture of the exterior in the listing. But there are lots of the interior...

And it's nuts!

It really is unbelievable what they can do with a 15 x 130 foot row house lot.

But WHAT is with the trend of having the toilet open in the master bedroom!?!  At least it is more than a foot away from the bed!

I love everything about this house except the fact that the toilet opens to the bedroom.

And the fact that it backs onto some sort of building, either office or apartment which might get weird with windows that large.

The house is listed at $1,198,000 (it was listed at $529,900 in May 2011).

Considering that the house at 49 Brookfield Street was listed for $1,249,000 and sold for $1,265,000, what do you think this place will sell for?

I think it will sell for $1,198,000.

Maybe $1,225,000.

Brookfield might have had a washroom in the basement that was left un-renovated (weird) but at least it had a proper bathroom in the master.

(thanks to Stuart for sending in the link!)
