This house in South Rosedale was last for sale in November 2010 for $1,649,900 and the listing stated *Opportunity Knocks In South Rosedale*!
Well, it looks like someone gutted the place and they are now selling for $3,379,000. It is 5+1 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms on a 36 x 138.73 foot lot.
From the picture above, it actually still looks like they are doing work on it! With all the work that would have gone into this place, the work inside probably only finished recently.
This is what it looked like a year and a half ago...
So, if this is a flip, they made a big effort making it NOT look like a flip. There are a lot of personal things in this house. I don't know why but I get a a bit of an Undercorate feel from this house. Maybe it is the staggered picture frames...
It also reminds me a lot of this picture from the Dwell Studio website.
Does the owner of Dwell Studio Christiane Lemieux live in Toronto?
I thought she lived in New York.
Here she is in her Hamptons home which has the black, white, brass and wood thing happening like this house...
I love everything about this house. Everything but the bottom of those stairs. I like that you can get upstairs from the kitchen or front hall but 4 stairs in the middle of what should be a hallway is strange.
Other than that, a lot of thought was put into this house which makes me feel like it isn't a flip. More like an unexpected job change to a different city. Which is another reason this makes me think this probaby ISN'T Christiane Lemieux's house. But it could be...

Speaking of the kitchen...I love it. It looks like it could be IKEA with METRIK pulls and KULLA lights but I am pretty sure it is custom. For $3,379,000!!!
The pendants in the third floor are IKEA and so is the sink in the basement...hmm. They look great in the bedrooms but it makes me wonder about the kitchen.
The rest of the house is beautiful if you are into white, black and wood. Even the chairs in the office are white and black! The backyard is large but there is a condo building looking directly into it.
Like Suzanne Dimma's house that was taken off the market last week, this house does not have a sign in front. If it isn't Christiane's house... it is the house of someone whose name might be worth the premium!
I really, really like this house. But even if it was done by a well known designer, I don't think it is a $3.379M house. Maybe if it came with all the furniture.....
PS. What is with this trend of guitars being placed in listing shots? Are there really that many people who play guitar?
