5 Miles Place - CHRISTIE PITTS
This lane house is at 5 Miles Place but it also known as 58 Garnet Avenue Rear, or the house behind this house...
And it is pretty great.
Actually, it's amazing and I love it.
I love the pillows and the rugs...the art...the bathroom sink (but where is the shower?)...the furniture (even though none of it looks very comfortable)...the heated concrete floors...the kitchen...
Is it me, the small table creating an optical illusion, or is that the largest orchid you have ever seen!?!
There is something about the house that reminds me of the Rathnelly house at 218 Cottingham Avenue but that place was fancier and wasn't a lane house.
This house is small but still feels like it is a good size becuase of the windows and the ceiling height.
It is basically a smaller version of what the Playter Estates lane house at 234 Browning Avenue could look like.
It is also a similar-ish to the lane house at 15A Grove Avenue in Beaconsfield Village though that house was slightly larger with 3+2 bedroom and 3 bathrooms but not nearly as nice.
This house is only 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms though.
It is probably the most similar to the house at 6 Melbourne Place in Parkdale that was 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (though one was just a toilet in the corner of one bedroom, literally, and the other was basically just a whole basement bathroom)..
234 Browning was listed at $995,000 and sold for $1,285,000 (I know, holy cr-p!) last spring.
15A Grove was listed at $869,000 which I thought was high but it sold for $865,000 last August.
6 Melbourne Place was listed at $689,000 and sold for $702,000 in January.
This house is listed at $649,000.
I think it that if you can actually park a car larger than a Fiat into that space (how does that gate open!?!)....maybe even $701,000!
Am I crazy to maybe even say $715,000...
Or is it just that I really, really love this place (so much so that I could easily overlook that washer and dryer are not only separated by a sink but the doors also open the wrong way)?
